Their passion and commitment to Latin Funk Dance® has brought them together to form this one of a kind, fun and high energy Dance group called The Corazon Dancers. Group and Duo Performances are also available.

Susan began her dancing career at the age of two training and competing in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Hip-Hop and African. She started performing with Gustavo in Calgary with the Young Canadians of Performing Arts. In the 90's, she was a choreographer, instructor and performer for "Dance with France", one of Calgary's leading professional high energy dance groups. In 2000, Susan began teaching Latin Funk Dance® with Gustavo and performing with The Corazon Dance.

"Dance to me means creativity, expression, freedom and personality. It gives the ability to express myself without words. Dancing can be energetic, calming, difficult and sometimes easy but it always lends itself to passion. I have been performing with Gustavo since I was 13. He is a dedicated artist and performer. He truly loves watching his students grow into capable and confident dancers. Gustavo takes the intimidation out of dancing and believes that anyone can succeed!"

Virginia has been taking Latin Funk Dance® since 2002. She has been teaching classes for Gustavo since early 2008. Her dance background includes many years of training in ballet and jazz since she was a child. She was a competitive gymnast for many years.

Jennifer has been taking Latin Funk Dance® since 2008. She started dancing at the age of 5 at a ballet academy and has taken many different styles of dance classes. She loves Hip-Hop and all types of Latin dance.

"The definition of dance for me is art. I express myself by dancing. What I like about Latin Funk is that you learn more than just one style of Latin dance. I'm a person that loves to mix different styles into one song. I also like that there is no partnering in these classes. Ever since I started taking Latin Funk, I realized that I've gotten more energetic, more passionate for dance, healthier and more skilled as a dancer. Gustavo is very energetic and charismatic. He makes you really want to dance. He is a very professional teacher and is passionate for his job as a dancer."

Marketa has been taking Latin Funk Dance® since 2001. Her dance background includes many years of ballet training and salsa dancing.

"Dancing is very important to me. It releases me from reality, relaxes me and keeps me healthy. I love Latin Funk Dance® with Gustavo! It's so much fun! We constantly learn new dance moves and proper technique with new choreography routines each class that are fun and challenging. It's also a great way to release any stress or tension and burn lots of calories! What I like about Gustavo as an instructor is his high energy when he teaches and dances.
